Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated the Orchidarium and the floriculture project. Kerala Forest Development Corporation(KFDC) at Vagamon takes the complete initiative to operate the first Orchid garden in Kerala which will help in enhancing the greenery of Vagamon. The project developed in 10 acres of land. There are various types of Plants, Flowers, Trees, Seeds and much more in Orchidarium. There is a naturally formed lake in the centre of the region which gets many visitors attraction. A park also created near Orchidarium to encourage people to visit the spot. Seatings made of bamboo are placed in the park where you can sit and enjoy seeing the sights. The visitors can purchase Orchid and other flowers, its seeds, from Orchidarium. There is an Eco shop from which visitors can buy Cardamom, Coffee, Pepper, Honey, Sandalwood, Sandal oil, Sandal Powder, Red Sandal and many more.
Kurisumala, which literally translates as ‘Cross Mountain’, is a Christian pilgrim centre that is a two-kilometer drive from Kumily .
